With a launch date set in early August, Instagram’s brand new video feature called Reels is officially arriving in the U.S.
The new Instagram feature is a direct competitor to TikTok, a grossly popular China-owned app, and was already tested in Brazil, France, and Germany, with an expected 50 countries to receive the feature alongside the United States. Reels has already been launched in India, following the country’s ban on TikTok.
Users can create and post 15-second videos set to music or other audio, just like TikTok, as well as have a plethora of editing tools to suit their creative needs.
